8.2m Walkaround Power Catamaran design was commissioned
by Toby, a private customer, through Streamline
Catamarans. Toby has extensive knowledge of fishing in
Hervey Bay and surrounding waters and runs www.fishingherveybay.com.au
He was looking for a fast lightweight stable fishing
platform.
The
design was modeled in Autoship and Rhino. The final
panel shapes were nested in DuFLEX and sent to
Streamline Catamarans as a kitset from ATL Composites. www.atlcomposites.com
The
design features a large double berth for over nights
away. The cabin seats 4 adults and has ice box, fridge,
and stowage compartments. The aft deck has twin 300l
fish holds under the deck, and the walkaround sides make
for easy fishing in any wind direction for a party of
four.
The
vessel has been seen wave jumping large breaking rollers
of the Hervey Bay bar, and fishing deep reefs along the
coastline. The ride and comfort of the cat is
surprising many folk, as the cat only has a beam of
2.5m. The beam was design so the cat could be legally
towed anywhere in Australia without restrictions. The
cat was towed down to the Sanctuary Cove International
Boat show behind a land cruiser, with no dramas at
all.
Streamline
Catamarans have done an incredible job on the fit and
finish of the cat. The team of builders have gone the
extra mile to achieve a totally unique and high quality
product. The boat has been re-viewed in Blue Water
Magazine with high marks.
This
design is available through Streamline Catamarans as a
new build. Owners may choose a standard layout
configuration or we are happy to custom design one to
suit.
A larger
beam of 3m is planned for the future for this model. If
you are as serious about your fishing and your boats
performance as Toby is, then maybe a cat like this would
suit you too.
